Project: Retirement Village Energy Independence
Capacity: 250 kW/500 kWh
Application: Energy Independence | Backup Power
Location: Gauteng, South Africa
Completion Date: January 2024
In January 2024, a retirement village in Gauteng, South Africa, achieved a major milestone in energy independence with the installation of a 250 kW/500 kWh Lithium Valley energy storage system. This large-scale solution, paired with a robust photovoltaic (PV) system, provides the retirement community with reliable, renewable energy, ensuring continuous power for residents, even during grid outages.
The outdoor container installation is fully optimized for long-term performance, ensuring reliable backup power and energy independence. With this system, the retirement village can now generate and store its own energy, reducing reliance on the grid and enhancing sustainability. This setup not only supports the community’s daily needs but also helps manage energy costs and improve resilience against power disruptions.
